I have been listening heavily to the self-titled full length by American Football. On Saturday, I purchased Braid’s crowning achievement, <i>Frame and Canvas</i>, on vinyl. Just last night, I was reminiscing about the time I spent in France while listening to Pele’s <i>Elephant</i> (a record I listened to constantly while in that country.) It suddenly occurred to me that all three of these records were records I would have listened to in ‘99 (yes, even the Pele record… it was re-issued in 2003, but originally released in 1999.) It also reminded me of how great a label <a href="http://www.polyvinylrecords.com" target="_blank">Polyvinyl Records</a> was and, really, still is. I’m especially eager to hear what that new Aloha record is going to sound like.
